Operator: RMX Tec Ltd, Bulgaria. Contact: info@proxi.zone. This policy covers cookies and local browser storage in the current version of proxi.zone.
What is stored in the browser
- roundchat_session — proxi.zone cookie
- A random session ID for login and request security. Accessible only to the server (HttpOnly), with SameSite=Lax. Valid for up to 2 hours for guests and up to 7 days after login; renewed upon login and logout. Contains an ID, not an email address, name or password. On a public HTTPS site, it must only be transmitted over a secure connection.
- roundchat.limit — localStorage proxi.zone
- The number of nearby chats you have selected in the interface. It is written after the setting is changed and is retained until site data is cleared. It does not contain location data or account details; it is not used for tracking.
- roundchat_language — proxi.zone cookie
- Your chosen interface language. On your first visit, the language is determined by the browser’s Accept-Language header without creating this cookie; manual selection takes precedence. Stored for up to one year after the language is explicitly selected; not used for analytics or tracking. Deleted when site data is cleared. You can change the language using the selector at any time.
- roundchat.onboarding — proxi.zone localStorage
- The version of the welcome notification, the time and the selected search method (geolocation or manual location). This is only recorded after you have made your selection and is retained for up to 180 days; the outdated record is replaced upon your next selection. It does not contain coordinates and does not constitute consent to tracking. The window can be reopened in the settings.
- roundchat.location-request — sessionStorage proxi.zone
- A one-off timestamp of when the geolocation button on the QR chat card is pressed. Redirects the action to the map page, then is deleted; it is ignored after 30 seconds. It does not store any coordinates.
Management
roundchat_visitor — proxi.zone cookie: a random visitor identifier for subscriptions, membership and activity tracking. Validity period — up to one year, HttpOnly, SameSite=Lax; on HTTPS — Secure. A hash of the identifier is stored in the database. Does not contain coordinates, name or email. After logging in, the account identifier is used; guest subscriptions are not automatically transferred.
When push notifications are explicitly enabled, the browser saves the subscription and service worker to receive notifications. It does not cache chat history or the map. Push notification permission can be revoked in the browser settings. Deleting the guest ID cookie may prevent access to guest membership, applications, private chats and subscription management; it does not delete messages or other records on the server. Before clearing your cookies, you can unsubscribe from chats via the notification settings; to delete server data, please contact the administrator.
The session cookie is required for login and security functions. The setting for the number of chats saves your explicitly selected preference. Advertising, analytics cookies and tracking pixels are not used. When you first open a map or chat card, a welcome notification appears offering a choice between geolocation or manual search, along with links to documentation. This does not constitute consent to analytics, advertising or any future data processing.
You can clear the website’s data in your browser; this will end local access to the session and reset your preference. The logout button terminates the current session on the server. If cookies are disabled, the login may not work; however, the chat search remains available.
Geolocation permission is a separate browser setting, not a cookie. Deleting cookies does not necessarily revoke this permission. Change the permission for the site in your browser settings.
Optional notifications about new nearby chats are disabled by default and require an account. Their settings, saved areas and the device’s last position are stored on the server, not in a cookie or localStorage. If location services are enabled and permission has already been granted, the visible page may update the last position. A closed website does not track movements; the last saved position is used for reference. Clearing browser data or revoking permission does not delete it from the server: disable location access in the settings. Areas are deleted separately; a general pause preserves the configuration. For more details, see the Privacy Policy.
External map and future changes
Loading OpenStreetMap tiles transmits network information and the viewing area to the map provider. For more details, see the Privacy Policy. Before adding optional analytics or adverts, a consent option will be implemented prior to loading the relevant tools, along with a simple way to withdraw consent.
Sign-in via Google
When redirected to Google after selecting a location for a new chat, the `roundchat.google-create-point` key in `sessionStorage` stores only the selected coordinates and the time of the redirect. This allows you to continue creating the chat at the same point after logging in. The entry is deleted upon return; data older than 10 minutes is ignored, and closing the tab clears sessionStorage. Login tokens are not stored in this storage. The Google website only opens when the button is clicked and uses its own cookies in accordance with its own policies. proxi.zone does not load Google login widgets in the background.
