Terms of Use

Operator: RMX Tec Ltd, a company registered in Bulgaria. Contact: info@proxi.zone.

These Terms and Conditions govern the use of proxi.zone. Please read them and the Privacy Policy before using the service. By creating an account after being shown a link to these Terms and Conditions, you accept them. The Terms of Use also apply to guest access. If you do not agree to the terms, please stop using the service.

1. Age and Purpose

The service is intended for persons aged 18 and over and for lawful personal or business communication. proxi.zone helps you find local chats based on your device’s location or a selected point. Currently available features include a map showing demo and user-created chats, accounts, the ability to create a chat and a QR code, guest access, and messaging within existing chats. Demo chats are not intended for messaging.

2. Guests and chat owners

No registration is required to search for, view or join available chats. An account is required to create and manage your own chat, as well as to receive optional notifications about new chats nearby. When selecting ‘Create a chat’, guests are first informed of this requirement; they may then choose whether to open the login or registration form.

When registering, please use an email address to which you have access, confirm it and keep your password secret. Your username may be a pseudonym, but you must not impersonate another person. Please report any suspected account compromise to us. proxi.zone accounts are separate from QRChat accounts.

3. Location and access

Geolocation permission is voluntary; you can set a pin or enter coordinates to search. A search from a specific point does not prove you are physically near the chat. When applying and joining, the server checks the device’s coordinates against a set radius (from 50 metres); global chats do not require coordinates. A private chat requires an application, the owner’s approval and re-entry with a new radius check if it is restricted. A participant who has already joined retains access after moving outside the radius. It is not permitted to circumvent access restrictions or falsify data for this purpose.

Geolocation may be inaccurate. The chat’s name, location and settings do not confirm the owner’s identity or their right to represent an organisation. proxi.zone is not an emergency service and does not guarantee that users are present at the specified location.

4. Types of communication and visibility

In a group chat, messages are intended for all participants in the conversation. In a one-to-one chat, each participant communicates separately with the creator. The chat’s visibility and the method of communication are separate settings. A private chat requires the owner’s permission; this does not imply end-to-end encryption or prevent the recipient from copying messages. Do not post other people’s personal information without a legitimate reason.

Messages support up to 4,000 characters, replies, reactions and one attachment of up to 10 MiB. Access to the file is verified based on membership and the relevant conversation. Attachments may retain their original metadata; automatic metadata cleansing and antivirus scanning are not yet enabled. You can change your chosen name, but old messages will retain the name as it was at the time of sending.

5. Acceptable Use

Illegal content, child exploitation, threats and incitement to violence, bullying, hateful harassment, the publication of other people’s private data, fraud, phishing, malicious code, spam, intellectual property infringements and attempts to gain unauthorised access are prohibited. You must not interfere with the service, circumvent blocks or request limits, or collect user data for unlawful purposes.

6. Reporting violations and moderation

You can report a violation at info@proxi.zone: please provide a link or the chat/message ID, a description of the issue and your contact details for a reply. Do not forward illegal material if simply indicating its location is sufficient. The address provided is also intended for enquiries from the authorities; enquiries are accepted in Russian, English and Bulgarian.

The owner may approve or reject requests to join a private chat and delete messages from their chat. When a message is deleted, the text is cleared, attachments and reactions are removed; a deletion mark remains for reply links. Other participants cannot delete messages via the interface, including their own. It is possible to appeal against a decision and request a human review via the same email address. Automatic AI moderation, blocking and a separate admin panel have not yet been implemented; their rules will be outlined when these features are enabled.

7. Rights to content and QR codes

You retain the rights to your content. By submitting it to the service, you grant a limited, non-exclusive licence to store, process and transmit it solely for the purposes of operating, safeguarding and lawfully moderating the service. This does not give the operator the right to use private correspondence for advertising purposes. You must hold the necessary rights to the materials you submit.

Placing QR codes in establishments and other locations requires the permission of the relevant owner and compliance with local regulations. A QR code serves as a link, not a guarantee of the chat’s perpetual availability or access to it.

8. Costs, notifications and third-party services

The local version is free. In-app purchases, paid subscriptions, paid credits and payments are not enabled. Should these become available, the price, payment method and applicable consumer rights will be displayed before purchase; there is no automatic consent to future charges.

Optional subscriptions to notifications for visits, new members and messages support in-app notifications, email, Telegram and push notifications. Local confirmation, recovery and notification emails are sent via Mailpit; external email is not included. Telegram requires setting up a separate bot, whilst push notifications require browser permission. Subscription does not confer membership or access to correspondence. OpenStreetMap images are used for the map; the provider’s terms and conditions apply.

9. Availability, termination and liability

Notifications about new nearby chats must be enabled separately and are disabled by default. You can use your device’s last saved location and up to 20 saved areas, each with a radius of no more than 5 km. Notifications relate to new public and private chats from other users that are available via search, and do not grant access to chat history or a subscription to future messages. Changing your settings does not generate notifications for older chats. When the website is closed or the device does not transmit a new location, the last saved location is used; this may not correspond to your current location. Changing your location or zones may cancel a notification that has not yet been sent. A general pause preserves your settings; disabling location services deletes the last location, whilst zones are deleted separately.

The test version may change, be unavailable or contain errors. Continuous availability, delivery of every message and the absence of all unwanted content are not guaranteed. Do not use the platform as the sole storage for important information.

You may cease using the service and request the deletion of your account. Restrictions imposed by the operator must be justified, for example, by a breach of the rules, the need to address a security threat, or a legal requirement. The processing and deletion of data are governed by the Privacy Policy.

The liability of the parties is determined by applicable law. Nothing in these Terms excludes mandatory consumer rights or liability that cannot be limited, including liability for wilful misconduct, gross negligence and harm to life or health.

10. Governing Law and Amendments

Bulgarian law applies, whilst maintaining the mandatory consumer guarantees applicable at the consumer’s place of habitual residence. The provisions regarding the competent court do not deprive the consumer of the right to bring proceedings before a court provided for by applicable legislation.

We will notify you of any material changes to these terms and conditions via the service or by email in advance, usually 30 days in advance, except in the case of urgent legal or protective measures. The terms and conditions for paid features will require separate acceptance prior to ordering. If any individual provision is invalid, the remaining provisions shall remain in force to the extent permitted by law.
